How long have you worked as a hairdresser at Green Heads?
- I have been working as a green hairdresser since January 4, 2019 when we opened Green Heads Sofo.
How did interest in green hair care arise?
- When I met my friend Lise-Lott Bergsman, who I worked with a long time ago. She told me about her work at Green Heads and I thought it sounded very good and exciting! Very good for the hairdressing industry.
How long have you been in the industry and what has your time in the profession been like?
- I've been in the industry for about 25 years now! I moved from Hässleholm twenty years ago because I wanted to develop in the profession. Here I got the chance to do both styling work for magazines and fashion shows. I've worked as a color technician for various product companies and held courses for other hairdressers. I've also done a lot of hair shows where I've been on stage and cut models' hair. Great fun!
When I've been out in salons and giving courses, I've been struck by how many hairdressers don't think about the dangerous chemicals they work with on a daily basis. They often worked without gloves or ignored them when they rinsed out their colors. I sometimes chased them with a pair of gloves, ha ha. When I was expecting my children, it wasn't fun to be standing with all these chemicals every day at work.
Green hair care is so obviously better! I hope we can get the industry and customers to see that we do just as great jobs in a non-toxic and more environmentally friendly way! The change is needed!
Where do you find your inspiration?
- Trends come from different directions and we pick up the ones we personally like, I think. I find inspiration in both old and new films, series and music. Travel, nature and other people give me a lot of inspiration.
How do you ensure you stay forward-thinking and curious?
- By using my creativity and artistry in my profession. Being artistic and finding an outlet for it is an important ingredient for me in my profession. I get to do that every day as a hairdresser and it's so much fun!
What is your greatest passion in your profession?
- I am curious by nature and like to meet new people, like my clients in the chair. I am passionate about finding a way to help them find their style with their hair and to listen to what they like or don't like about their hair. It is also important to me that they are able to fix the styling at home in different ways. It is so much fun to make others happy!
What hair trend do you hope never comes back?
- The potty haircut on grown men. Not fun, for anyone, ha ha.
