Get to know Venla better in the interview below:
How long have you worked as a hairdresser at Green Heads?
- I started working at the end of 2018, so almost two years. I divide my time at Green Heads by working one to two days per week as a nurse. For me, working in two professions is a very good fit
How did interest in green hair care arise?
- I am also a trained nurse and therefore health is close to my heart. I wanted to work as gently as possible and when I found Green Heads I felt that it was the only way I wanted to work as a hairdresser.
How long have you been in the industry and what has your time in the profession been like?
- I went to hairdressing school in Finland in 2016 and got my Gäsellbrev in the spring of 2018, previously I have worked as a surgical nurse for almost 8 years. When I moved to Sweden I first worked as a nurse but in October 2018 Maria offered me a job at GreenHeads and I am so glad I said yes!
Where do you find your inspiration?
- I like to check out inspiring hair tutorials from YouTube and also pictures from Instagram. I think it's so great that you can find a lot of inspiration and information from the internet these days. I also like to get inspiration from ordinary people in town!
How do you ensure you stay forward-thinking and curious?
- I have now found a profession where I can both help people and be creative. I am grateful every day that I have followed my dream and chosen to become a hairdresser.
What is your greatest passion in your profession?
- I love meeting new people and helping them find their way to have beautiful hair. I love working creatively but am also technical and meticulous in my job, it is very rewarding to be able to use your strengths at work and in that way make people happy.
What hair trend do you hope never comes back?
- Hockey Frillan (taka jeejee in Finnish)
