Hair trends 2026

Healthy Hair Glow

Hair health is a luxury we indulge in, and the trendiest thing you can have in 2026 is hair that feels strong, soft, and healthy, but with an unpolished and lively touch. We're seeing more focus on routines and products that make hair look good long after a salon visit.

Cut

The bob, the fringe, and the lengths
1 Bob 2.0: movable, soft and easy to grow out
The bob is still here, but in 2026, we'll see it feel more alive. Think soft texture, movement, and a shape that grows out beautifully.
Two bobs we'll see more of, in addition to the short classic:
- Soft bob: a slightly longer bob with soft movement/light waves
- Graduated bob, also called boho-bob: a more layered shape with more attitude

2 Short hair
For those who like shorter lengths, the in-between of the classic pixie cut and a bob, i.e., the Bixie, remains trendy and maintains its popularity this year as well.

3 Adaptive fringe: a versatile fringe
The fringe is also trending in 2026, but it should be more flexible. Many want to be able to wear it both as a middle parting and a side parting, down and up, and for it to grow out nicely. What will be popular in 2026 is a defined but soft fringe, as well as longer curtain fringes that can easily be styled into a middle or side parting when needed.

4 Sculpted lengths: shape without losing length
Long hair will be more sculpted in 2026, but not as highly and sharply layered, but rather softly thinned out, preferably with a "careless" feel. We will see layers that build a clean silhouette, a soft drape, and a luxurious overall feel. Perfect for those who want to feel updated without changing everything.

Colors

Color trends are moving in two directions: soft luxe or statement:
1 Soft luxe
Either soft dimensions, fine shine, and a natural "expensive" feel are in demand:
lavish brunette, cashmere/honey blonde, and soft transitions like color melting. Color melting is about creating seamless highlights without strong and clear transitions between colors. The technique can be used on all hair colors, and the goal is to create a natural look, with dimensions and subtle color shifts. Subtle, natural, and elegant!

2 Statement
Or, more wow is desired, think blonde versus deeper overall colors and root shades (deliberate, beautiful contrast at the roots). Colors that create a clearer look with cooler/lighter shades and more contrast. Rich brown is emerging as a dark horse.

Styling

Unpolished but with style
2026 is the year when simple styling dominates, meaning more natural wave, shape, and finish. We'll see less of perfect glamorous curls, which are being phased out in favor of natural fall and scrunched texture. We'll also see more of the '90s blowout (fluffy and brushed volume) and soft waves with the feel of braids and natural fall, such as bed head hair. Nourishing shampoo and conditioner, a moisturizing hair mask, and a leave-in cream are the basic products in the hair wardrobe to keep dry ends and damaged lengths at bay. In addition, you can spray in a Sea Salt Mist for texture and ALWAYS use heat protection when heat styling.

Updos

Simple knots
Either a messy bun or a sleek bun will be in vogue in 2026; the more uncomplicated, the better. Accessories for updos are still popular this year and are dominated by clips, bows, headbands, and scarves.
