Taking extra care of your scalp can make a big difference to the shine and strength of your hair. Everything from massage to the right shampoo and leave-in products makes a difference, such as stimulating blood circulation, which can increase hair growth, providing the right growth environment and protecting the scalp from impurities and external influences. How your scalp is is also affected from the inside, for example your diet, genetics and stress can affect the balance in your scalp. If you have problems with your scalp, you are probably already aware of what works for you and what doesn't. Most often, it takes a problem to arise for us to give the scalp the love it really needs, but let's break the trend and jump on scalp care now!

Here are the concepts and steps we use when it comes to scalp care.

Exfoliate – Removes dead skin cells, stimulating the scalp's natural renewal.

Massage - Removes dirt and styling residue, stimulates and awakens the hair follicles.

Detox – Deeply cleanses clogged hair follicles from various deposits.

Nourish – Provide your scalp with gentle and moisturizing products.

Protect – Leave-in, heat protection, oil, etc. to lubricate and protect the hair from external influences.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating your scalp removes dead skin cells and stimulates the scalp's natural renewal process. It removes dirt that has accumulated and can relieve itching. This can be done with a treatment and/or with the help of a brush designed for the scalp.

  • So Eco Massaging Scalp Brush gently cleanses and exfoliates impurities from your scalp. Increases blood circulation and also delivers oxygen and nutrients that hair follicles need to maximize hair growth. Massage shampoo into wet hair with circular movements for a few minutes, repeat 2-3 times every two to three weeks for best results.

Massage

Scalp massage with a brush or by hand removes styling residue and helps cleanse the scalp more thoroughly. Massage also increases blood circulation, which awakens hair follicles and can lead to fuller hair. At the same time, massage relieves tense muscles, reduces stress and increases oxytocin levels. Try massaging your scalp for a few minutes every day.

Detox

Detoxing the scalp means thoroughly removing buildup such as greasy styling residue, oils and even metals from impurities that can clog the scalp. Detoxing should not be done too often as it can be drying to the scalp, but about 2 times a month it is important to really wash the scalp.

  • A detox shampoo often has a stronger detergent surfactant to quickly and easily clean the hair. Bruns 04 is a detox shampoo that cleans the hair thoroughly. Wash twice with the shampoo and combine with a Scalp brush that exfoliates the scalp for maximum effect.
  • You can also get a detox effect with your regular shampoo by washing your hair several times, at least 3. The first time you remove superficial dirt, and the more times you wash, the cleaner it becomes. Here too, a scalp brush helps you exfoliate the scalp.
  • You can also take the detox one step further with a course, Green Heads Alg In Treatment contains carrageenan algae that cleanses hair and scalp from deposits and impurities while soothing and balancing with the help of lavender. Repeat the detox every six weeks.

Cherish

The scalp needs nourishing products that moisturize and supply essential amino acids. Scalp care should feel lubricating, healing, and relieve itching.

  • Green Heads Shampoo Bar Balance gently cleanses the hair. It contains nettle and baobab oil that both soothe and stimulate the scalp to counteract imbalance and irritation. It is also free of perfume.
  • Bruns Växaserie is specially formulated for the scalp, nutrients from mung beans and red clover sprouts stimulate the hair follicle, promote hair growth and prevent hair loss. Promotes a healthy scalp and improves moisture balance in depth.

Protect

When it comes to protecting your scalp, there are leave-in products that balance and repair. They soothe itching and can feel soothing for a tight and dry scalp.

  • Reverie Cake is a protective serum that is applied a few drops to the fingertips and massaged into the scalp in towel-dried hair. The serum promotes a healthy scalp and has anti-aging effects to prevent hair loss while promoting hair growth. A mix of eight essential oils and contains, among other things, stem cells from apples that stimulate the production of collagen. It also has rose water that soothes and moisturizes.
  • Herbal Tonic is a hair tonic from Less Is More that cleanses, refreshes and soothes an irritated scalp. It contains birch extract that prevents hair loss and dandruff, and calendula extract that nourishes the hair from the root, while soothing the scalp.

Bonus tips

  1. Don't overwash your hair , it can lead to a dry and itchy scalp. The scalp needs to rest between washes to get its natural sebum to work, which lubricates the scalp.
  2. Always shampoo your scalp twice . The first shampooing cleans the hair from dirt and grease. The second shampooing allows the shampoo's active ingredients to work and you achieve the results the shampoo promises.
  3. Rinse thoroughly , it is important to rinse out shampoo, hair treatment and conditioner so that no residue remains and irritates the scalp or weighs down or makes the hair greasy.
  4. Wash your hair with moderately warm water, hot water dries it out and cold water makes it difficult to really get your hair and scalp clean.
  5. Use a gentle dry shampoo that doesn't clog and stress the scalp, but allows it to continue to breathe and produce sebum.
  6. Avoid silicones and hair waxes that are difficult to wash out, they can clog and "suffocate" the scalp, which when clogged cannot absorb strengthening ingredients from our products.
  7. Skip putting your hair up when it's wet , it makes your hair take longer to dry and your scalp stays moist for far too long, which can create an unclean environment with irritation and fungus on the scalp.
  8. If you have thick hair, even if you don't want to blow-dry your entire head, make sure to dry your scalp so you don't leave it damp for too long, which can cause irritation.
  9. Get started, the scalp is washed - the hair is cared for. It is the scalp that should receive most of the shampoo and massage, the hair will be cleaned when the shampoo is rinsed out. The conditioner is massaged primarily into the lengths and the scalp gets its share when the conditioner is rinsed out.
