How to choose hair oil?

A really good hair oil brings life and shine to tired and lifeless hair! It reduces frizz and contains ingredients that nourish and strengthen the hair. Some hair oils also have a certain heat protection by forming a protective layer against drying out from heat styling, sun, salt water and chlorine. And now that we are launching our first own hair oil, Green Heads - Oil In Fusion , we are so happy that it fulfills all of the above! For a long period of time we have been working on developing a really good hair oil and now it is here. Oil In Fusion consists of a unique blend of carefully selected, 100% natural, oils that enrich and strengthen the hair. Which one is best depends of course on your hair and your needs.

Why should you use hair oil?

There are of course several reasons! In the long term, hair oils strengthen the hair, but a more direct result is that it becomes shiny and less frizzy. Healthy hair has a nice shine, is moisturized and soft. In our hair oil, we have added moisturizing Argan oil, which reduces frizz, Abyssin, which gives shine, luster and protects the hair against wear. We have also added Broccoli oil, which makes the hair silky and provides light heat protection, plus Squalane, which is emollient and reduces hair brittleness.

Hair oil in styling

If you use oil in styling, it is mainly to reduce frizz, feel free to comb baby hair with a little oil on a comb. It can also be really nice if you want a wet look to apply oil to your hair. It works especially well on short hair, if you have long hair, be careful with the ends, you don't want oil on the collar. You can also work up extra shine in your hair by taking a small drop and distributing it before blow-drying, this can give really silky and lovely hair.

Hair oil as a nourishing hair mask

In the summer or in countries where the sun is stronger than here, it is perfect to soak your hair in hair oil and twist it into a knot during the day. The hair is moisturized and protected from all the cooling and perhaps salty baths. When you then wash the oil out, your hair is silky smooth and you are ready for warm summer evenings.

Strengthen hair products with hair oil

Hair oil can also be added to other hair products to create new functions. Just as you add extra serum or oil to your skin care, you can work with your hair care. Add oil to your hair mask for extra hydration or to your blow-dry cream for extra shine. If you have a dry texturizing cream but some days you want it softer to hug bouncy curls, you can easily fix that by adding a drop of oil.

How much oil should you take?
If your hair becomes greasy from hair oil, you have probably used too much, usually very little is enough. Hair type, hair quality and desired result determine how much oil you need. Fine, thin and healthy hair only needs one drop for shine and protection, while dry and coarse hair may need 3-4 dips. For fine hair, it is perfect to mix a tiny drop into, for example, a blow-dry cream for extra shine and moisture.

How often should you use hair oil?
Hair oil can be used every day. If you apply oil to damp hair before styling, the hair will become less frizzy, dry faster and have an increased shine. It is a technique that is suitable for slightly finer hair. For really dry and thick hair, the oil is perfect to apply to the ends to restore softness and shine.

Oil as a hair treatment and deep treatment?
For a real deep treatment, you can add plenty of oil to your hair in the evening, taking the opportunity to massage a few drops into your scalp for extra hydration and nourishment. Then you sleep with the oil in your hair and wash it out in the morning, which becomes a truly nourishing hair mask.

How does the scent affect the oil?
In natural hair oils, essential oils are often used as a fragrance. In addition to their fragrance, they often have beneficial properties and are active ingredients in themselves. Our hair oil has a citrus-based scent that we have chosen to call “Citrus Dream” and some claim that it reminds us of lemon & meringue pie - yum ! The essential oils Oil In Fusion contains have an uplifting effect, increase concentration and counteracts stress and depression according to its aromatherapeutic properties.
